YEIDEP Postpones Payment of Batch A Grants, Alerts the Public on Online Fraud and Fake News

Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP) has suspended its payment of business grants to Batch A beneficiaries, which was originally slated to commence on October 20, 2025.

The suspension, says a statement by the programme Coordinator-General, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, was warranted by the imperative of ensuring a transparent, accountable, and error-free payment process.

Iyere cautioned applicants to desist from believing false news circulating on the social media that the payment had commenced. He warned that fraudsters on the internet were capitalizing on such misinformation to fleece innocent members of the public.

“Internet fraudsters are peddling fake news in a bid to deceive unsuspecting Nigerians. All the benefits of YEIDEP are free of any charge, and the public should dismiss any individual who is requesting a payment,” he said.

The Coordinator-General assured the applicants that a new disbursement date will be announced in the near future through authorized media channels once the process is done.

Meanwhile, YEIDEP issued a statement that its registration portal reopens on October 27, 2025, for Batch B recruitment, reasserting its commitment to providing each registered member their rightful entitlements.

Iyere also called on the applicants and the general public to subscribe to YEIDEP’s verified YouTube, Facebook, and other online platforms for authentic information.
